Countess runs on normal

I've been thinking. Since these only take around 4 minutes each, you should theoretically be able to build a fortune by cubing the runes... even if they're low. In fact, I'm going to try this. How long until I get an Ist?

Btw: What is the highest runedrop for the County on normal?

Ooch, sorry to say that's absolutely impossible !

Ok, let's imagine the following scenario :
- Each countess run lasts 1 minute only,
- You drop AMN in each run (pretty good for Normal countess),
- You drop the needed chipped/flawed gems every 3 runs,
- You don't sleep / eat / get RealmDown / whatever,
- You cube the runes instantly,

3*Amn = Sol
3*Sol = Shael
3*Shael = Dol
3*Dol = Hel
3*Hel = Io
3*Io = Lum
3*Lum = Ko
3*Ko = Fal
3*Fal = Lem
3*Lem = Pul
2*Pul = Um
2*Um = Mal
2*Mal = Ist

So : for only 1 Ist, you will need (3^10)*(2^3) AMNs = 472392 AMNs
That is 472392 minutes = 328 days...

That's almost 1 year... And just remember I'm assuming you don't eat / don't sleep / run countess in 1 minute for AMN + chipped gems each run... Countess runs on normal (1)

Yes. I just did realize that.

Damn.

How much worse are the runedrops on normal, though?

I don't know exactly but I believe AMN is one of the highest rune you can drop from Normal Countess.

IMHO, it's much better to build a strong CountessRun-specific character (for example : 200% FCR Pure Lightning Sorc) and run her in Hell difficulty  !

It's fairly easy to run her with anything even in hell. It just takes time...

Damn the sweet alluring call of bot usage. :lipsrsealed:

Well, you know, after dozens of Meph/Pindle/<insert your favourite boss here> runs, my neuronal activity is pretty close to the one of a bot anyway  !

I do not believe normal Countess can even drop an Amn rune. On normal difficult, the countess can drop up to a Ral rune with her rune drop, and only up to a Nef with her item drop (from what I can tell, because it's Runes 2).

I do not think it is worth it to run anything in normal, unless one is incapable of doing runs on higher difficulties - the only exception being baal - but that is for experience reasons

Sure, there is some decent stuff that can drop in normal, but running in normal means there is absolutely no chance of finding high end stuff. Besides, hell diablo seems to drop a lot of tc3 items for me, so even if you are hunting the lowest level items possible it might be viable to run high monsters.

The key to finding items is to play the game A LOT.

@ the original poster - only hell countess can drop keys which is another argument for skipping her on norm and nm difficulties.
