8 You Can Choose To Play Alone Or With Friends
For the start of the game, you will be thrown straight into your first run-through to see how far you can get. Once you quit or die, you will be returned to the start of the game, where you can now invite your friends or enter into matchmaking to play with others. This is a great option, especially for this sort of game where you could be in one playthrough for a long time if you manage not to die. 7 Keep An Eye Out For Chests
Throughout each level, there are different stages to progress through, and at the end of each level, you will have a chest to open, so make sure you do not forget. These upgrades do not carry over, though, so do not worry about which you are choosing.

For example, if you have fire damage on a weapon, you can increase fire damage build-up for an upgrade. 6 Go For The Head
Headshots in this game are really powerful, especially when going up against shielded enemies. Shields can be broken on the weaker enemies. However, you can also shoot them in the head over the shield to kill them faster (This uses less ammo and is more effective). Going for the head is very important. Like in most shooter games, headshots in Gunfire Reborn do more damage and decrease the time to kill. This is very important to remember when fighting a lot of enemies at once or when fighting stronger enemies.
5 Don't Miss The NPCs Dotted Around
At the end of each level, you will have a boss fight to deal with for the final stage. This may seem daunting, but luckily you are able to get prepared at the start of the boss fight. Before you enter the area to fight the boss, you will see two NPCs; the frog-looking one is the Peddler. They will have things for sale, like ammo, grenades, weapons, and health top-up. Make sure to visit them if you are hurting for supplies before entering the big fight.
The other NPC is the Craftsman. They are a big bear-looking thing, and as it says in the name, this is for crafting weapon upgrades. For each visit to the Craftsman, you will have two upgrades you can do per weapon and per visit. This will help increase the weapon damage and the abilities that it may have on the gun. If you have the coins available, this is a highly recommended choice, as it will really help with the boss fight. These two NPCs are also scattered around various stages, so you will have access to them should you see them while progressing through each level, not just when you are going to fight the boss.
4 Fighting Big Shielded Enemies
As you progress through each stage, you will progressively come up against tougher enemies. One of these enemies is the big shielded one. Unlike their weaker shielded allies, you cannot shoot them in the head or destroy the shield when they have their shield up, so you have to be clever and strategic when fighting them. You can wait for them to make an attack, and when they do, they will drop their shield, allowing you to get some shots in.

Another way to get some damage on the big shields is to use your grenades. Grenades do damage over time, especially poisonous ones, which means you can land one at the feet of the enemy and damage them. When fighting enemies like this, movement is key. If you stay still, you are not going to have the best chance to beat them, so use your movement abilities, like dashes, to help you dodge and get behind their shields to do the most damage. You can also get the orb ability that you have for the first character you use. This will lock enemies' in place, allowing you to get behind them and damage them.
3 Manage Health And Shield
When your shield is broken, it will recharge instead of you having to collect things to fill it back up. However, it will not refill when in combat, so you need to keep up your movement and try and dip out of combat to let your shield recharge. On the other hand, with health, this does not recharge. That's something you need to collect food for in order to heal up. As mentioned above, you can also find the peddler where you can buy health that will heal you for 30 percent. Food can be found by killing enemies and opening chests. They are not just on the floor randomly, so it can be hard to come across health just running around the map. That is why the Peddler is so important.
2 Check The Weapons You Are Picking Up
To find weapons, you need to kill enemies, and they will drop weapons for you to pick up. The stronger the enemy, the better the chance of getting a good-quality weapon. Usually, when you kill a boss, you will get a legendary weapon. Also, by completing challenges in the game, like killing a certain enemy a number of times, you will unlock weapons that can drop.
However, do not just pick a weapon up because it is of better quality. You need to compare them to the guns you have. Some guns will be less powerful or have different roles, meaning the buffs on the weapons are different. When it comes to building the best kit and getting the best weapons, you need to pay attention to what you prefer to use and what mixes with your abilities best. Also, you could get the weapon you already have, but it might have a different roll on buffs and passives. So, it is worth checking it anyway and seeing if the roll is better.
1 Use Your Soul Essence
When you make your way through killing enemies, you will be collecting Soul Essence. Soul Essence is an important part of the game as it has two uses that are really useful. Firstly, it can be used during the game while in levels. It is used to revive you should you die. However, this should be used wisely as its next use is more important. With the respawn, you should only think about using it if you know you can make it further in the level. If you think you can keep going, go for it, as you will recoup some lost Soul Essence by getting more kills and further on in the level.
The next use, which is its most important use, is to buy level-ups for your character at the end of a playthrough. Once you die and get back to the start, you will be given a chance to buy skills for your character, which will make it stronger for another playthrough. You can upgrade things like health, strength, etc., which will give you more of an edge. So, the overall goal is to level your character up as much as possible to get as far as possible during a run-through. That is why using Soul essence for respawning needs to be thought about, as the leveling-up capabilities are more important.
